If you see a message like “Something went wrong while setting up a Google DAI stream,” it usually means something on your device or network is blocking video playback.
This type of error is most often related to security, privacy, or ad-blocking settings or software. Because A&E is an ad-supported service, anything that filters or blocks ad content can interfere with playback.
Try the following steps to resolve the issue:
Try another browser.
Open the same video in a different web browser to see if it plays correctly. This helps determine whether the issue is caused by your browser, your device, or your network.Check browser extensions.
Some browser add-ons—especially ad blockers or privacy extensions—can prevent videos from loading. Try temporarily disabling these extensions, then refresh the page and test playback again.Check your network settings.
Certain routers or security services (such as Homepass/Plume, Eero Secure, or AdGuard Home) include network-level ad blocking that can interrupt streaming. If you use one of these, turn off its ad-blocking feature for the device you’re watching on.
After making these changes, reload the video and try again.
